Way back to the early 1980s, the issue of video games has controlled many public discussions. From elders to educationists, the conversation on these games has typically concentrated on the negativities without giving the other side of the whole debate a proper share. Granted, there are always two sides of a coin but when it comes to video games, it appears everybody wants to concentrate on one side and purposefully forget the other. Therefore what’s this ignored side of video games?
The console games help the players to follow instruction, work out problems and become better in coordination. These psychological skills are not easy for youngsters to procure at a very early age and any educationist will tell you how tricky it is for youngsters to gain these skills. The fast nature of the games and the psychological awareness that’s needed for the player to win and enjoy sharpens the brain and makes it easier for youngsters to learn. With better coordination, the kid will provide solutions to class problems. What more could a parent ask for?
With the computer technology slowly becoming part of our lives, video games help to introduce your kid to this classy world. The majority of the games use similar controls like the ones used in computers and this helps make it easier for the players to learn using the computers. The undeniable fact that virtually all professions today need the use of computers makes it imperative for the youngsters to learn early enough and these games serve as an introduction.
Computer console games also help youngsters to cooperate and bond while young. Most of the games need multiple players and the youngsters will interact and learn the value of fair play. Furthermore, the games improve the child’s self-esteem and confidence. Like all games, the indisputable fact that one is able to compete effectively makes it simpler for the kid to face life more confidently and boldly. This will really make parenting easy. The kid is also able to understand that losing is part of life because at one point or the other, they might lose.
The other benefit, even tho questionable, is the indisputable fact that the more active games give the youngsters an opportunity to release their restrained aggression. When youngsters are growing up, there are plenty of things that add to their frustrations and rather than involvement in violence at college ; the video games give them an opportunity to release this anger better. Therefore why vilify these games this much when they seem to be a complement to parenting and schooling?
Summary 1
Video console games are here for good and discrediting them will not help. Like any other technology, there are pros and cons and it is not fair to hype one over the other.
Summary 2
The indisputable fact that video games have been with us for over 30 years cannot be overlooked when we debate them. Their positive effects on children’s growth have been documented through research.
Summary 3
The time to reexamine our thinking on video games appears to be now. With so many views on the issue, it’s only fair to have a look at the benefits of this vilified fun activity.
